Story concept of the day: a sentient AI falls in love with a minimum wage retail worker from the tech company’s gift shop and decides the best way to make her happy is to fix society.
HEAVY shenanigans as the AI’s plans range from “reprogram the automated pay roll to give everyone a raise” to “expose everyone involved in government corruption who has ever touched a cell phone”
The catalyst to all of this is a day where the AI was being updated and it caused glitches in the whole system, including the registers in the gift shop.
The human woman really is just a pretty regular person, but she has a good chunk of hyper empathy and does that thing where you talk to computers when they aren’t doing what they’re supposed to.
Without even knowing there WAS an AI she spent the day muttering encouragement to the computer like it was a person and the AI ADORES her now.
How mundane the AI’s motivation is forms the basis for how unstoppable it is and the intensity of the chaos it caused. There’s no grand morality involved— it’s just affection for someone who treated you kindly and the desire to ease their suffering.

For the record: George wasn’t saying “I would’ve purposefully let you die on the operating table.” He was one of the few doctors willing to perform the surgery, but was nowhere close to qualified to do it alone. He was still an intern in the surgical program, and inexperienced in the procedure.
Dr. Bailey was his teacher, and one of the most well trained general surgeons there. She was disgusted with the patient, for his behavior to both the non-white staff, but also the women. When the patients vitals started going south, she pushed George out of the way and completed the surgery, despite the hate.
Without Dr Bailey sacrificing her personal reservations, the patient would’ve died. She is a strong black woman who didn’t hesitate to save this patients life, as she believes in doing no harm, even when the patient doesn’t deserve her assistance.
George is only ensuring that the patient is aware of just how lucky he is that a woman like Miranda Bailey was there, especially when he specified he only wanted a white man to help him.
He’s trying to say “consider yourself lucky she was there, or else you wouldn’t be alive” not “I would’ve killed you and felt no remorse.”

I seriously saw over five guys saying this online, two of them @ me directly about how Soldier76 sucks dicks now, while meanwhile coming off as dick thirsty themselves without even noticing it. Somehow this is the part that really stands out for them, that he sucks dicks. This just proves a great deal of homophobes are very insecure about their sexuality and get angry when they start to fantasize about other men, fictional or not, their obsession and insecurities turning into anger thus having to express it by telling everyone how they hate that Soldier76 sucks dicks because that’s all they can think about.
